If one was to be asked to describe this man, one word which might come to mind is "enigma". He seems to be everywhere, doing everything, busy and visible, yet blending into the background so well as to almost go unnoticed.
Such is the way we remember him from our youth. We were first introduced to Dave at a summer camp for youth, where we were serving as musicians, and he as the sound technician for the worship programs. Well versed in many a technical field, Dave was responsible for not only the sound, but the lighting rig, projection and repairs to any equipment damaged by the dust ond dirt of the tent environment we found ourselves in.
If it has buttons or wires and it's broke; Dave can fix it. If it has drive and passion, but little knowledge or experience, Dave will take it under his wing and teach it. Such is the calibre of the man. Apart from this labour of love, Dave has held many day jobs in the industry from setting it up to running it to fixing it. Everything from old 1 inch reel to reels to CRT projectors and everything in between; his experience is broad.
When we needed a technician to record for "No More Night", we couldn't think of anyone better. Driving long distances to be here, we appreciated his time and effort. We look forward to working with him again.
